WW2 ATS Woman’s Bakelite Cap Badge

WW2 ATS (Auxiliary Territorial Service) plastic Bakelite cap badge was the women’s branch of the British Army during World War 2. It was formed on September 9th, 1938, and existed until February 1st, 1949, as a women’s voluntary service. These Bakelite badges were used during the Second World War due to material shortages. They are less common than the brass ones. On the rear slide is marked  JR & L  LTD BHAM.
